Can anyone tell me if there are any good performance monitoring tools out there for EntireX Broker running on Z/OS (or that can interface to it on that platform) that can automate alerts if performance thresholds are exceeded?

Check System Management Hub. It is free with EntireX, runs on Z/OS, has a PC client GUI, and has SNMP interface. If you have a SNMP compatible monitoring tool (e.g. OpenVIew) you should be able to use MIBs.
